Universitimes.com Launches

Surya got kicked off The Apprentice tonight so we decided that the same night Donald gave him the axe would be a great time to launch our project. Why not right?

So I present to you: Universitimes.com. Yet another blog network, right? Well, I guess, yeah. But we’re not creating blogs that are focused on topics that already have dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of bloggers - we’re focusing our efforts on tight-knit, campus communities around the country and, hopefully, around the world.

We are both big fans of user-generated content and we’re hoping to capitalized on my experience running blogs and Surya’s experience running businesses to make something cool. If we happen to make a few bucks in the process, even better.

If you happen to watch The Apprentice there are two things you should know:

  • You’re in the minority - the show has terrible ratings this year.
  • In response to the terrible ratings, they turned Surya into a kind of corporate-jargon-loving monster to give people someone to root against.  He’s really not like that, he’s a cool guy.  He even drinks chai tea lattes like Noah and I.

Check out our little project.  The plan is to start launching blogs in the shortly, I’m coding as fast as I can between exams and other client work.

What Next?

  • Bummer, I won’t be a college student for much more than a month. Very cool project though, I can’t wait to check it out more. :)

  • You can still keep up with Colorado from the blog though - alumni are part of the target audience :)
